Immunity Soup

This is a delicious warming soup that enhances digestion and the overall immune system. Simmer slow, sip and feel the warmth.

So what is so magic about this soup?
Garlic (Allium sativunm) has been used medicinally for centuries, it has even been found in Ancient Egyptian tombs! When crushed, garlic provides allicin which is a potent natural antibiotic. Garlic has also been used for its excellent anti-bacterial properties to fight against the common cold and flu! it also has been found to support respiratory conditions (both viral and bacterial) – talk about a superfood!

Onion is the other key ingredient in this immunity soup. From the same Lilly family as Garlic, onions have been used traditionally to help fight catahhr and support the body to overcome colds, flu and respiratory conditions. Onions are also high in Vitamin C (7mg/100mg) and provide a tiny dose of zinc (0.17mg/100.

Both garlic and onion support the cardiovascular system and have the ability to thin blood in high dose. Both these foods are high in sulphur, helping to enhance the body’s naturally liver detoxification processes by stimulating phase 1 and phase 2. They also have the ability to upset sensitive tummies so be careful if triggered by FODMAP foods.

This recipe is Gluten free, Dairy free, Soy Free and can be adjusted to be Vegan
