Different foods hold different energies that can support the body in many different ways.
There are warming foods, cooling foods, grounding foods, soothings foods… all of them unique with their many health benefits.
This is my Earthing Salad, given this name mainly due to the root vegetables within the ingredient list which help to ground us as individuals.
This salad is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Paleo, Grain Free, Primal, Vegan, Sugar Free, Raw
Ingredients:
2 medium carrots (can be orange or one orange one purple), skin washed and dried – if non organic remove skins
2 medium beetroots, skin washed and dried – if non organic remove skins
1 bunch of spinach, washed and roughly chopped
1 avocado diced
3 spring onions thinly sliced
1 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
1 small handful of parsley, roughly chopped
5 or so large mint leaves, roughly chopped
optional: 1 red chilli finely chopped.
Dressing: a squeeze of fresh lemon, a squeeze of lime 😉
Method:
1. In a large salad bowl, mix together all your seeds, herbs, spinach and onion.
2. Using a food processor on grater setting, grate the carrot and beetroot and mix into salad.
3. Squeeze fresh lemon and lime over the top and enjoy straight away or for lunch the next day.
This salad was paired deliciously with some grilled fish but you could use any protein that you fancy
